    NOW IS THE TIME!!

I hear every day, “when are we going to see the bottom of the Real Estate market???”  Well, I think we’re there.  I have a friend that is a Realtor in the Phoenix area specializing in central and west Phoenix metro areas.  He said that many bank owned properties end up in a bidding war and end up closing much higher in price than where they were listed.  He said he has just started seeing this happen over the last couple of months.  We’ve started to see the same thing happen in the Lake Havasu City area.  If this continues I would say it’s obvious that the market has bottomed out and the recovery is under way.

Many people will sit back and wait to “make sure” the bottom has been hit.  This is not a good idea because if the bottom has been reached, the best deals will be long gone in a matter of weeks.  If you are considering buying a new home NOW IS THE TIME!!

    An Evening of Excellence

An impressive $2.5 Million in Scholarships was presented to the Lake Havasu City High School Seniors in an ‘Evening of Excellence this week. Included in this these scholarships were two Military Academy appointments, Air Force and Navy. This award ceremony was almost 3 hours long as each scholarship was individually presented to the receiving student by a representative of the organization providing the scholarship.
We attended this ‘Evening of Excellence’ so Tommy could present the scholarship offered this year by our local VW Bus group to a student pursuing an automotive career. Representing the London Bridge Bullies, Tommy presented their scholarship to Derek Wallsmith. Funds for this scholarship were raised at our annual ‘Buses By the Bridge’ event in January.
It was an honor to attend this award ceremony and sit in the audience of these students who are moving out into the world, representing Lake Havasu City; and to be a part of the recognition of their outstanding accomplishments. Equally impressive is the support of many local businesses and organizations in Lake Havasu City in offering scholarships, even if only in the amount of $500. Combined with the University and Military scholarships, it all ads up and this year, it added up to over $2.5 Million!
We have always known there was a strong support of the High School Seniors’ scholarship program but didn’t really realize the impact of it until sitting there in person, and seeing the presenters from all over the country there, recognizing the students and making their presentations in person. How extra-special those students must feel!
